In December 1965, in a smoke-filled room on the second floor of the Hotel Chauen in the medina of Tangier, South African journalist Terry Bell accepted a challenge: to paddle a kayak from London to Tangier. By August 1967, he was living as a political exile in London, with his heart in South Africa. For Terry and his wife Babara, it was time to get back to Africa.
